The Haven - Financial Support

There are a number of ways to support the Haven financially, many of which can be tax efficient if you are a private donor.   Naturally, anything you give will be much appreciated!  If you are one of the fortunate SSIA holders perhaps you would consider giving a portion to this worthwhile venture while you consider what to do with the rest.  A pledge form for any donation is given below.

Cork Christian Trust is a registered charity eligible for full tax reclaim.  This is our fourth year of eligibility, and we will try to do the reclaim paperwork before the summer.

If all your income is derived entirely from PAYE sources, we can reclaim the income tax paid for amounts totaling over €250 in any year.  As an example, for a €500 annual donation, we can reclaim €125 for standard rate taxpayers and €362 for high rate.  We can only do this if we have a record (confidential of course) of your name, address and the amount of the donation.  There is a huge financial advantage to us, at no extra cost to you, of being able to take advantage of the Government's generosity in this manner!

If you are a self-assessed taxpayer or have income derived from non-PAYE sources, then you may reclaim the tax back yourself in the next financial year, which reduces the 'cost' of your donation.

One Off Gifts

Any one off gift is a great help in reducing the overall capital loan amount and running costs.  Please send donations, including your name and address, to:

Cork Christian Trust Account# 64303326.Bank of Ireland, 32 South Mall Cork, sort code 902768.

You may also give or send your donation, suitably marked, to any of the three trustees named below  who will ensure it is deposited in this account for this purpose.  Receipts will be issued for all donations.

Online Donations

If you wish, you may make a once off donation on-line via PayPal's secure payments system.  This can be debited from your credit card in a secure fashion or if you have a PayPal account it will come off that as normal.  Receipts in this case will come from PayPal.

Standing Orders

A Standing Order direct from your bank account to the Cork Christian Trust account is of great help to us in planning and guaranteeing our ability to meet the capital loan repayments and our running costs (heat, light, insurance, telephone, etc.).  You will need to inform your bank on their regular Standing Order Form.

Interest Free 'Loans'

For those who wish to(a) give the project a fair wind by providing loans for a limited initial period such as three years or more, or (b) have the assurance that they can recoup their contribution in the unlikely event that the project does not successfully establish itself into the future, we would be happy to provide a letter of agreement which gives you, as a substantial donor, second call on any remaining funds (legally, the lending Bank has first call on funds raised through the sale of the building, furnishings etc.).  The major security in this vision is that we are investing in a building housing the Resource Centre, thus even if it should fail financially there is still security for those contributing in this way.

Due to the administrative complexity of keeping track of these donations and the potential wind-up costs, we must restrict this facility to donations over €10,000.  Please speak to one of the Trustees if you should wish to avail of this facility.

As with all charities, the Trustees cannot benefit materially from the sale of the charity's assets.

Your support is greatly appreciated!
