Café Internship
The CityGates Café draws in a variety of people from around the community who enjoy the peaceful and welcoming atmosphere of our café. There are plentiful oppurtunities in ministering to them as well as working along side of our local volunteers who come from many different backgrounds. Not only will you gain experience in cafe ministry but you will also learn practical skills. Main responsibilities will include:
- Serve customers with friendly attitude
- Build relationships with local volunteers and regular customers
- Food handling and preparation
- Money Handling
- Assist with cleaning and organising
Bookshop Internship
Footprints Bookshop services many different denominations and church groups as well as ministers to those who are searching. We are looking for an intern who has an open mind and willingness to be a listening ear to those who are struggling with questions of faith. You will also learn the ins and outs of managing a bookshop from taking inventory & odering to displaying merchandising. Main responsibilites include:
- Bookshop Administration
- Visiual Merchandising
- Organising and setting up bookstalls
- Book keeping
Outreach Internship
At the Haven we desire to reach out to our surrounding community and meet the needs that are there. There are many good works happening around us and where we can we partner with different ministries to assit them in their work as well as develop new oppurtunities. We are looking for an intern to help us in running and organising a variety events that will help us support our local community. Main Responsibilities include:
- Manage and organise regular outreach and special events
- Partner with local ministires
- Create new and innovative ways to reach the community
- Fundraing and marketing
Youth Internships
We are looking for two people with a heart for young people to work with the local teenagers who frequent the Haven. Based in the café staff whilst welcoming and building relationships with the youth. Main responsibilities include:
- Run evening youth café in the Haven
- Co-ordinate Open Mic nights
- Build relationships with the local teens and expand current youth programme within the Haven
Pre-School Internship
This is a new opportunity where we are lookng for someone creative with a passion for preschoolers to develop a programme working with the local city preschoolers and their parents. Building on the current baby and toddler groups which run three times a week and mostly works with young families from the city centre. We would be looknig for someone with ideas for free events to welcome more families to the Haven while building and supporting relationships within the group. Main responsibilities include:
- Continue with co-ordinating toddler groups
- Expand current programme
- Build relationships with parents and children reflecting the Haven ethos
Web & Media Internship
At the Haven we aim to make available more resources to people and churches who live in Cork as well as the surrounding Counties. There is a new oppurtunity were we can provide resources through our website and are looking for someone with IT skills and has a basic understanding of both graphic and web design. Main responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with others to set up and maintain web sales
- Update the Haven website with current news, events, & pictures
- Communication through media such as Facebook & Twitter
- Online market research for consumer trends in Christian media
